Celebrating Independent Businesses in Southport

We were commissioned by Southport BID’s Southport Independents campaign to create a website that promotes and celebrates small independent businesses in the Southport area.

The site was to be designed with the client’s colour scheme and logos, and one of its primary functions was to be a directory of business listings, as well as events, jobs and regular blog posts.

It was also important that the site was fully responsive and mobile-ready, feature maps, social media feeds and sharing functions, and offer facilities for local business owners to submit new business listing, event and job information to the site via forms.

The project was a great success and the site now fully active and features over 215 listings promoting independent Southport businesses.

The Features.

Responsive

The website has been designed and developed with mobile devices in mind and displays on a variety of phones, tablets and small laptops.

Business Directory

This website features a content management system for searchable business listings, events and job vacancies, all of which can be managed easily by the site owners.

Blog

This site features a blog for posting articles and the latest news from Southport Independents. This is feature-rich and fully manageable by the site owners.

Brand Colours

The website utilises Southport Independent’s own colours and logos to match their other assets and brand vision, and deliver clean and elegant styling.

Social Media Integration

Social media links are included on each business listing page for both promotion and sharing and the website’s homepage also features an attractive Instagram feed.

Maps

The site integrates with Google Maps to include maps and location information for the business listings, and clever features such as radius searching.
